In some situations, you may briefly see a "glimpse" of an application's content for a split second before the AppLock password screen appears. We recognize this is a serious privacy concern, and this article explains why it happens and the best way to fix it.
Cause: A System Delay
This "glimpse" is not an error in the lock itself, but a symptom of a delay. It occurs when the app you are opening loads just before AppLock's security service is able to draw the lock screen on top of it.
This delay is often caused or made worse by the Android system's aggressive battery-saving features, which can slow down how quickly background apps like AppLock are allowed to respond.
How to Fix It
The most effective way to minimize this delay and improve the lock screen's response time is to disable battery optimization for AppLock. This allows our security service to run at top priority and respond instantly.
- Go to your phone's main Settings menu.
- Tap on Battery.
- Look for a sub-menu like "App battery management," "Battery optimization," or "Power saving."
- Find AppLock in the list of applications.
- Set its background activity mode to "Unrestricted" or "No restrictions".
After changing this setting, please restart your phone. This will greatly reduce the chance of seeing any content before the lock screen appears. Our team is also continuously working on performance improvements to eliminate this delay entirely in future updates.
