How to Use the Security Question Feature

The Security Question is your most important backup tool for regaining access to AppLock if you forget your main password or pattern. This guide will show you how to set it up and how to use it for recovery.

How to Set Up or Change Your Security Question

We highly recommend setting up your security question as soon as you install AppLock.

1. Open AppLock and enter your password.
2. Go to the Settings tab at the bottom.
3. Tap on System & Security.
4. Tap on "Change Security Question".
5. Select a question from the list and type in your secret answer.

Tip: Choose an answer that is very easy for you to remember but very difficult for anyone else to guess.

How to Use Your Security Question to Reset Your Password

If you forget your password, you can use your security question to get back in.

1. On the AppLock lock screen, enter the wrong password or pattern several times.
2. A "Forgot?" or "Forgot Password" link will appear. Tap on it.
3. You will be prompted to answer the security question you previously set.
4. Carefully type in your exact secret answer and tap "Confirm" or "Reset".
5. If the answer is correct, you will be allowed to set a new master password for AppLock.

Important: If you forget both your main password AND the answer to your security question, the only way to regain access is by completely resetting the AppLock app via your phone's settings.
