It can be stressful to forget your password and get locked out of your apps. Don't worry, this guide will help you reset AppLock and regain access.
Important: This process will NOT delete your photos, contacts, or other personal data on your phone. It will only reset the AppLock application itself.
This method is for situations where you have forgotten your master password/PIN and cannot use your security question to recover it.
Step-by-Step Guide to Reset AppLock
You will need to act quickly for this process to work. Please read all the steps first before you begin.
Method 1
- Restart Your Phone Press and hold your phone's power button and choose to Restart.
- Act Quickly to Open Settings As soon as your phone turns back on, and before the AppLock screen has a chance to appear, you must open your phone's main Settings menu. The fastest way is to swipe down from the top of your screen and tap the Settings icon (the little gear ⚙️).
- Find AppLock in Your Apps List In your phone's Settings, navigate to Apps (this may also be called "Applications" or "Manage apps"). Scroll through the list and find AppLock, then tap on it.
Clear the App Data Tap on the Storage menu for AppLock. You will see a button that says "Clear data" or "Clear storage". Tap this button. Your phone may show a warning that the app's data will be deleted permanently; please confirm.

Method 2
- Restart Your Phone Press and hold your phone's power button and choose to Restart
- Quickly locate your AppLock application and hard press it to load options.
Select uninstall and then confirm when asked.
What Happens Next?
After you have cleared the data, the AppLock app is reset.
When you open AppLock again, it will be like the first time you installed it. You will be prompted to create a brand new password. All your other apps will now be unlocked, and you can go through the list and re-select the ones you wish to protect.
