Some Customers with Samsung devices may find that their Secure Folder fails to open, crashes, or experiences other errors after setting up AppLock.
This is a known incompatibility with a specific setting.
Cause
This issue is caused when the main Android "Settings" app is locked by AppLock.
Samsung's Secure Folder is a deeply integrated system that needs to communicate with your phone's settings to function correctly. When the Settings app is locked, AppLock blocks this communication as part of its security protocol, which prevents Secure Folder from working.
Solution
To resolve this issue and use both features, you must keep your main "Settings" app unlocked.
- Open AppLock and enter your password.
- Go to the "Locked" tab to see all your currently locked applications.
- Find the app named "Settings" in the list.
- Tap the unlock icon 🔓 next to it.
After unlocking the "Settings" app, your Samsung Secure Folder should function normally again.
