You may notice that some of your banking, financial (like Google Pay), or other high-security apps crash or refuse to open while AppLock is active. This can happen even if those apps are not locked by AppLock.
Why This Happens: A Security Feature of Other Apps
This is not a bug in AppLock. Many high-security applications are designed to protect your financial data by detecting other apps that use "Accessibility" or "Display over other apps" permissions.
As a security measure, the banking or payment app will often shut itself down to prevent what it sees as a potential risk of another app monitoring the screen. AppLock requires these permissions to function, which creates this incompatibility with certain high-security apps.
Workaround
If you encounter this issue, the only workaround is to temporarily disable the main AppLock service before you open your banking or payment app.
- Open AppLock and enter your password.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Tap on System & Security.
- Turn the main ‘AppLock’ toggle switch off.
This will disable all locking functions. Remember to turn the switch back on after you have finished using your other app to re-enable protection for your locked apps.
